Common questions

Why did my digest not arrive?

Check that notifications are on for Pals in iOS Settings, and that digests are not paused in the app. Settings → Send test notification confirms delivery end to end.

The Mac app is not logging my messages

Pals needs Full Disk Access (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access). After granting it, use Sync now from the menu bar. Only messages with people in your friends list are matched; add their phone number or email to the friend.

How do I export or delete my data?

In the apps: Settings → Your data. On the web: your account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

Is the Mac app safe to open?

Yes. It is signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. It is not in the Mac App Store because reading Messages history requires Full Disk Access, which App Store apps cannot request.
